    Hi Mille,

I would say the following are easy cornerstone healthy habits I try and live be.

    1. Get your sleep sorted

      • Aim for 7-9 hours a night.
      • Try to stick to the same sleep schedule, even on weekends.
      • Make your bedroom a chill zone: cool, dark, and quiet.
    2. Stay active

      • Get moving for at least 30 minutes most days.
      • Mix it up with cardio, strength, and flexibility exercises.
      • Pick activities you enjoy so you’ll stick with them.
    3. Eat well

      • Fill your plate with a variety of fruits and veggies.
      • Cut down on processed foods, sugar, and bad fats.
      • Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
    4. Keep calm and carry on

      • Try a bit of mindfulness or meditation each day.
      • Do some deep breathing exercises or a bit of yoga.
      • Make time for things that help you relax and unwind.
    5. Stay connected

      • Spend time with family and friends.
      • Get involved in social activities and community groups.
      • Build and maintain supportive relationships to boost your mood.

To stay on track with your wellness and healthy habits, start by setting clear goals and breaking them down into manageable steps. Write down what you want to achieve and keep it somewhere visible to remind yourself of your commitment. Making a plan is crucial schedule your workouts, meals, and relaxation time like you would any other appointment. Planning your week in advance helps you stay organised and avoid last-minute decisions that could derail your efforts.

Tracking your progress is another key element. Keep a journal or use an app to monitor your activities, food intake, and how you’re feeling. Celebrating small achievements along the way can keep you motivated and reinforce your commitment. Remember to stay flexible life happens, and sometimes you’ll need to adapt your plans. Don’t beat yourself up if you miss a workout or have an off day; just get back on track as soon as you can.

Firstly, congratulations! The fact that you're even asking how to form a healthy habit shows you have the intention or curiosity to do so which is the first step towards making it a reality. If you want to do something, you're most likely to take steps towards achieving it!

In terms of how to form a healthy habit, I think Oliver's post above does a brilliant job of laying out the steps. I think you need to look at your own lifestyle, the changes you want to see and choose the healthy habits that you want to adopt as part of your regular routine. Sometimes, even the smallest changes make a huge impact.

If it's food-related, then look at what you're currently doing and what you can do better. Listen to your body and know what works for it and what doesn't, because everyone's metabolism, gut sensitivities and issues are unique to the life you've led, the nutrition you've fed it and your environment.

So pick your healthy habits and know what they are, but be sure to find the ones that you know you can sustain.

Commit to what you're about to do and understand why you're doing it.

If you know and believe in the reason behind your actions, then you're most likely to stick to the new habit you're beginning, be it exercise, infusing greens into your day or just starting to take time out for yourself. The reason is your motivation.

Sustaining a healthy habit comes from making it a part of your routine. The same way you'd wash your face after a night out or shower after exercising, your healthy habit needs to become part of your way of doing things, so the easier you make it, the better.

Have a goal, focus on achieving it and if it's daunting then work towards progress, not perfection. It's better to make a small change and be consistent with it than make big changes that you burn out on. You want to commit and stick with something for the long haul so you see changes in the way you feel and look, because let's face it, you have to look at the person staring you back in the mirror every day and be happy with who that person is.

So in summary, look into the healthy habits that are right for you, commit to change and remind yourself daily why you're doing this because your vision will shape your progress and fuel your commitment. Finally, go for it. You are the only person standing in the way of success so don't be an obstacle for yourself, but your greatest supporter.

You got this, best of luck!
